Cesar Chavez Day is March 31, 2022

Today is Cesar Chavez Day, in honor of the Arizona-born civil rights and labor activist who fought for better conditions for farmworkers. The day is observed on the anniversary of his birth in 1927.   This U.S. federal commemorative holiday is relatively new, proclaimed by President Barack Obama in 2014.  So you might not know all there is to know about Cesar Chavez.  Here are some books to help rectify that situation.

Who Was the Voice of the People?: Cesar Chavez by Terry Blas (WhoHQ graphic novel - 2021)
Who Was Cesar Chavez? by Dana Meachen Rau (WhoHQ - 2017)
Cesar Chavez by Josh Gregory (A True Book-2015)
César: Sí, Se Puede! Yes, We Can! by Carmen T. Bernier-Grand (2011)
Cesar Chavez by Ginger Wadsworth (2005)
Harvesting Hope: The Story of Cesar Chavez by Kathleen Krull (2003)
