The holiday season is hectic. Believe me, we know. That's why we're giving you an opportunity to enjoy the Christmas season using the ideas of Hygge, a Danish way of living that focuses on taking things slow and celebrating the small joys of life. Cozy Christmas on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 2 p.m. will feature lots of crafts, snacks, and opportunities to spend time with loved ones. Here's what you can expect at this low-key holiday program.
CRAFTS
Color and bejewel some holiday-shaped wooden ornaments for your tree.
Thread a wreath ornament using decorative wooden beads and pipe cleaners.
Weave a heart ornament inspired by Julehjerter (Danish Christmas Hearts).
Create a unique snowflake using coffee filters and scissors.
Write a letter to Santa and post it in our special mailbox in the library!
SNACKS
Warm drinks are a large part of the Hygge lifestyle, so what better way to get cozy than with some hot chocolate from East59! And, adults? Don't worry. We have coffee for you.
Enjoy a delicious sugar cookie, also from East59!
COZY TIME
Our Hyggekrog (cozy place) will be set up in the graphic novels area, complete with fireplace. Snuggle with a blanket and pillow while reading a Christmas story with your family.
Head to our Program Room, which will be transformed into a blanket fort, and enjoy some Christmas cartoons with the family.
I feel calmer just blogging about it! You don't want to miss it, so make sure you mark your calendar!
