Whale Submarine

It's back!  The HUGE after-hours Summer Reading Kick-Off event you've always loved is returning after a two-year pandemic hiatus.  That's right folks, the last one was our Star Wars Episode Fun event in 2019!  Since it's been such a long time, and since we have so many folks new to the area and our library, here's a breakdown of what you can expect at Dive In! on Friday, June 3, 2022 at 7 p.m.

Kid Zone = Disney Underwater
Swim your way through Nemo's Fishtank Escape obstacle course.
Make a Dory hat.
Meet Ariel at Ursula's tentacle-y ring toss.
Construct Luca's Pasta Vespa.
Strut your stuff at Tomotoa's Shiny Treasure Dance Party.

Teens = Pineapple Under the Sea
Let our Krusty Krab workers help you make a paper bag SpongeBob SquarePants.
Blow the perfect bubble . . . SpongeBob style.

Plaza = Pirate Cove
Go on a Blacklight Treasure Hunt with Captain Jack Sparrow.
Dig in the sand for buried gold and gems.
Play giant-sized Yo, Ho, Tic-Tac-Toe with skulls and crossbones.
Let Captain Hook guide you in a hook ring toss challenge.
Sail on our pirate-ship stage.
Walk the plank . . . if you dare.
Craft 'yer own hook with aluminum foil and a Solo cup.
Grab some grub in Tortuga's Café and play some pirate tabletop games.
Get some pirate ink at our Airbrush Tattoo Parlor.

Theatre = Deep Ocean
Feed the Kraken on the stage.
Maneuver through a smack of jellyfish in the ocean's Twilight Zone.
Craft a pearl bracelet.
Take a break from exploring to pose in our yellow submarine for a photo.

You can also, of course, sign up for Summer Reading 2022 -- Oceans of Possibilities.  The library will close at 5 p.m. that day.  We'll open the doors right at 7 p.m. for the event.  We'll need everyone out by 9 p.m., so we can turn the library back into the library before we reopen on Saturday morning.  It's gonna be BIG, guys!  I hope you'll be there!
