Cinco de Mayo

Cinco de Mayo literally translates to the 5th of May.  But it's more than that!  It is a celebration of Mexican heritage, culture, and pride.  So here are five new books that celebrate the same things.

Barefoot Dreams of Petra Luna by Alda P. Dobbs (2021)
Child of the Flower-Song People:
Luz Jiménez, Daughter of the Nahua by Gloria Amescua (2021)
Show Me History!: Frida Kahlo: The Revolutionary Painter by James Buckley, Jr. (2021)
Who Was the Voice of the People?: Cesar Chavez by Terry Blas (2021)
Without Separation: Prejudice, Segregation, and the Case of Alberto Alvarez by Larry Dane Brimner (2021)
