Magic City Quilt Artists was formed in May of 2016. This exhibit represents the first challenge that was issued to the members. The challenge was to create an art quilt composed of black and white fabrics, with no more than twenty percent of the piece being another color.  Many of the members also belong to other quilt guilds in Alabama, including the Evening Star Guild and the Birmingham Quilters Guild. Several of the MCQA members are also members of the national organization, Studio Art Quilt Associates. MCQA meets monthly in Vestavia Hills.
