Support our Veterans
Memorial Paver Application
New Pavers at Veterans Park are dedicated every year at Celebrate Hoover Day in May. This picturesque pavilion houses benches with pavers to honor those killed in action. The pavers in the central area honor veterans from all branches of service. Flags representing the service branches hang over the area, and a large American flag waves above all. Take a moment to visit this memorial and reflect on the service and sacrifice of all veterans.
Veterans Committee Membership Application
Show your support of veterans by becoming a member of the City of Hoover’s Veterans Committee. The mission of this committee is to instill community-wide patriotism, appreciation and respect for all branches of the armed services of the United States, and particularly for the service and sacrifice of Hoover residents who have served their country in the armed services. Members are selected by the Veterans Committee Chair, approved by the existing committee members, and serve at the pleasure of the Mayor of the City of Hoover. Members serve a term beginning from their time of appointment to the end of the mayor’s elected term. Current and ongoing projects include an annual Veterans Week Celebration, and fundraising, as necessary, to complete various projects supporting veterans. The Veterans Committee conducts public meetings as called by the chairman.
